My Approach to Counselling & Therapy
As an integrative practitioner with a speciality in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches depending on what each person needs.
In my work with clients, I often see how difficult it can be when thoughts, emotions, or life circumstances begin to build up over time. Together, we work to gently unpack those experiences, understand patterns, and find practical, manageable ways to create change.
I work one-to-one with both adolescents and adults, and I also have extensive experience supporting couples through challenges in their relationships.
Sessions are available in person in Limerick, as well as through secure online platforms including Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Telephone consultations are also available for those who prefer them.
Experience and Professional Background
I established Creating Calm Counselling in 2013, and since then, I’ve worked extensively across both private practice and organisational settings.
Alongside my private client work, I provide counselling services through Employee Assistance Programmes, supporting individuals across a wide range of industries and personal challenges. This includes working as an affiliate counsellor with organisations such as Health Assured, Wisdom Wellbeing, Spectrum.Life, HealthHero Ireland, and TELUS Health.
Earlier in my career, I worked on the frontline of mental health and support services, including with ISPCC Childline and Rainbow Support Services, providing telephone-based support to individuals in need.
In 2012, I was a founding member of Aware in the Limerick area, where I facilitated support groups focused on depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. During this time, I helped create spaces where people could share openly and feel less alone in their experiences.
I also served on the board, and as Treasurer, of the Limerick Mental Health Association between 2012 and 2013.
